Endocytosis/Digestion of Incoming Nutrients
Endocytosis is the process where a cell absorbs molecules by engulfing them. The lysosome is important in this because it contains acid hydrolase enzymes that break down waste materials and cellular debris. Also, the food vacuole is essential as well because it is a highly specialized organelle formed from endocytosis, in which phagocytized food is digested.
